Langley Holdings plc<\/a>, the diverse engineering and industrial group, has today published its IFRS Annual Report & Accounts for 2021.<\/p>\n

In the year to 31 December, the group reported a profit before tax (PBT) of \u20ac128.2 million. Revenues for the period were \u20ac814.6 million. Consolidated cash at the year end stood at \u20ac291.0 million and net assets at \u20ac835.7 million.<\/p>\n

The group reported that on 31 December it had acquired Norwegian engine builder, Bergen Engines AS, together with overseas subsidiaries, from Rolls-Royce plc for \u20ac91 million in cash.<\/p>\n

In his Chairman\u2019s Review of the business, Mr Tony Langley said that order intake had reached \u201crecord levels across the group\u201d and that [the] \u201cacquisition of Bergen Engines from Rolls-Royce represents a seminal moment\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Bergen Engines, which builds large gas and liquid fuelled engines for marine and land-based power generation applications, is to become \u201c\u2026 a central pillar of the group\u2019s net zero strategy\u201d.<\/p>\n

Bergen Engines will become the core of a newly formed Power Solutions Division that will pursue opportunities in the rapidly developing microgrid sector, along with Piller Power Systems, the group\u2019s German power stabilisation specialist and; Marelli Motori, the Italian electric motors and generators producer.<\/p>\n

Orders on hand increased significantly during 2021 culminating in a backlog of almost \u20ac800 million at the year-end.<\/p>\n

Langley is expecting a \u201cstep change\u201d in 2022 with revenues reaching \u20ac1.3 billion, of which \u20ac600 million from Power Solutions, \u20ac400 million from Print Technologies and \u20ac300 million from the Other Industrials divisions.<\/p>\n
